Gynostemma Pentaphyllum (Jiaogulan) GrowFlow™

This is an annual or short-lived perennial. It is a climbing plant, attaching itself to supports with its tendrils. Its glossy green leaves consist of 3-7 leaflets. Small white flowers appear in summer, followed by black globose fruit. It grows up to 80cm (32”) high a year. "Jiaogulan" is a member of the Cucurbit family and it is native to Japan and Korea. The plant sheds its leaves in the winter time.

Point of Sale

“Jiaogulan” is an important health plant in Chinese therapy and was rated among the ten most important tonic herbs at 1991 conference on a traditional medicines held in Beijing. It is said to improve blood circulation, stimulate liver function, strengthens the immune and nervous systems, and reduce blood sugar and cholesterol levels. It has Ginseng-like properties.
